LaunchPoint Pockets $22.5M for Health-Insurance Software

For his article, Reporter Tim Hay interviewed Terry Ryan about their funding from Carrick Capital Partners.  “Growth-equity firm Carrick Capital Partners provided the funding, which follows several rounds of angel backing from individuals that totaled more than $10 million, Chief Executive Terrence Ryan said. Alex Mason and Steve Unterberger, both managing directors at Carrick, have joined the board of directors at Itasca, Ill.-based LaunchPoint, he said.”

“LaunchPoint has two distinct lines of business, which are called Discovery Health Partners and Ajilitee… Ajilitee is a consulting business that works with large insurance companies, while Discovery Health Partners provides cloud-based software that analyzes the way insurers pay out claims in a bid to find mistakes or fraud. Insurers that use the payment analytics platform generally also consult with Ajilitee, the company said. The new funding will be used to fund both divisions of the company. Mr. Ryan said that insurance companies lose money through incorrect payments or outright fraud.”
