Carrick Passes Goal for its 1st Equity Fund

SANFrA

Senior Reporter Mark Calvey interviewed Marc McMorris for an article on the new fund and the current fundraising climate. “Carrick Capital Partners, a new San Francisco private equity firm, raised its first fund, exceeding its fundraising goal and timeline in a difficult environment to raise money. The firm, which spent much of the year raising the capital, pulled in $180 million, well above its target of $150 million. The co-founders are Marc McMorris, a former General Atlantic managing director focused on business services and software, and Jim Madden, founder and CEO of Exult Inc., a human resources outsourcing company that he grew from startup to $500 million in annual revenue. McMorris said the firm will focus on what the industry calls ‘growth equity capital,’ which invests in fast-growing companies with little reliance on debt to make the deal happen.”
